Cesme is a scenic town with townhouses, a lovely dock for cruise ships, boats and yachts, a vibrant lifestyle and a good tourism infrastructure. The town's landmark is its Castle, which dates back to the 14th century. The statue of Cezayirli Gazi Hasan Pasha, one of the admirals that participated in the battle of Chesma that took place in 1770 in the bay of Cesme, stands out in front of the castle. The statue show the admiral petting his favorite lion.

The spa town of Ilıca is located close to Cesme and is famous for its thermal springs and celebrity visitors. Except from tourism, water sports and delicious cheeses, Cesme was once known for its vineyards. Today it's known for its watermelons, as well as for its unsuccessful efforts to cultivate mastic trees.

Mykonos is known for its whitewashed villages sprinkled with blue and jade green. It's also famous for its sophisticated nightlife. The most popular island in the Cyclades is bustling with activity, awash in beautiful alleyways, and home to alluring sandy beaches.

At the southeastern edge, where Attica “fades”, Lavrio begins or “the Workshops” as the area was called in the past. The city of Lavrio, had a strong industrial identity and mining activity even before the 3rd millennium B.C., and started to be rebuilt in 1865 to modernize the city. Today the mines have been permanently closed (since 1980) and most of the inhabitants work in the remaining small industrial factories. In the city of Lavrio the Mineralogical Museum, founded in 1984 and the Archaeological Museum can be found. South of Lavrio, only 7 kilometers away, lies Cape Sounion, on which proudly stands the Temple of Poseidon and the Sanctuary of Athena.

Here on the island of Santorini, you'll find a classic Greek seascape-whitewashed houses accented by sea-blue roofs. This is a treasure trove for both professional and amateur archeology buffs, with sites that include tombs that date back to the 9th century and the sanctuary of Apollo. Ride a donkey up the trail to the city of Thira or take a cable car. The views from Thira, set atop a ledge overlooking the sea, are stirring. Most ships allow just enough time here to wander the streets, admire the churches and browse the shops and cafes.
